Not a Scientist? We got you.
While all of our ingredients are clean and non-toxic, the scientific names are still hard to decipher.
Our ingredients glossary is here to show transparency into why we wanted or needed each ingredient in our formula, defined with information sourced from reliable industry sites

GLYCERIN CAPRYLIC/CAPRIC TRIGLYCERIDE
Why we use it: derived from coconut oil and glycerin and is considered an excellent emollient and skin-replenishing ingredient.
Of note, its mix of fatty acids replenish skin's surface and help it to resist moisture loss.
SQUALANE
Why we use it: mimics your skin's natural oils and contains antioxidants that fights skin damage and free radicals, which can both accelerate the aging process.
Regular use can also boost collagen production, resulting in firmer skin.
While Hyaluronic Acid draws water to the skin, Squalene is a mega-hydrator that acts as a barrier to keep moisture locked in so skin is soft, supple and plump for longer.
ISONONYL ISONONANOATE
Why we use it: a synthetic ester that functions as an emollient skin-softening agent, leaving the skin feeling silky
CAPRYLYL GLYCOL
Why we use it: derived from a fatty acid, it works as a humectant, which means it draws in water and binds it to your skin so the moisture doesn’t evaporate. Also helps products last longer and improves product texture.
Naturally found in palm and coconut oils
HYDROXYETHYL ACRYLATE/SODIUM ACRYLOYLDIMETHYL TAURATE COPOLYMER
Why we use it: a synthetic polymer that primarily functions as a stabilizer, texture enhancer and dispersing agent.

Why we use it: an emulsifier and thickening agent that acts to bind ingredients that contain oil and water components by preventing dispersion
ALLANTOIN
Why we use it: used as a moisturizer to treat or prevent dry, rough, scaly, itchy skin and minor skin irritations. Can increase the water contents of cells, keeping skin hydrated, plump, and youthful.
TOCOPHERYL ACETATE
Why we use it: a specific form of vitamin E that acts as an antioxidant to protect the cells and DNA, promoting cellular health

Why we use it: the sodium salt of pyroglutamic acid is a naturally occurring component of human skin and a part of the "natural moisturizing factors" (NMF) that maintain healthy skin
AVOCADO OIL (PERSEA GRATISSIMA OIL)
Why we use it: an excellent source of skin-replenishing fatty acids, including omega-3 linolenic acid, omega-6 linoleic acid, oleic acid, and beta sitosterol.
VACCINIUM MYRTILLUS FRUIT EXTRACT
Why we use it: Natural extract that comes from bilberry (a dark berry similar to blueberries). Good source of potent antioxidants that boost skin's defense against stressors (anthocyanins)and helps visibly minimize the look of wrinkles, dark spots, and other signs of aging.
PANTHENOL
Why we use it: moisturizing, soothing, and anti-inflammatory properties that can help improve skin's hydration, elasticity, and smooth appearance as well as soothes red skin.
